The course requirements described here apply to persons who commenced their candidature after 1 January, 2013 and persons who commenced their candidature prior to 1 January, 2013 who elect to proceed under 2013 resolutions.
Candidates who commenced prior to 1 January, 2013 may complete the requirements in accordance with the resolutions in force at the time of their commencement, provided that requirements are completed by 1 January, 2018, or later date as the Faculty may, in special circumstances, approve.
Candidates who first commenced in 2013, and are re-enrolling for 2014 or later, should be aware that there may have been changes in units of study offered since, Check that units are still available by clicking the unit of study link in the course table. | Requirements: | Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering are required to complete 192 credit points comprising (a) 144 credit points of the core and elective Biomedical Engineering units of study plus (b) 48 credit points in a specialist major offered by the Faculty as shown in the accompanying tables. Acceptable alternative units of study Most units of study offered by the Science Faculty shown in the tables can be replaced by an equivalent advanced level unit, subject to prerequisite conditions (as required by the Faculty of Science) being met. Students considering doing advanced options should seek advice from their department before enrolling. Study abroad Students undertaking Study Abroad in a particular year of their degree must enrol in the appropriate International Exchange Program units of study as an alternative to a semester's standard units. |
