1.) Information, literacy, learning and research skills
Ability to use information effectively in a range of contexts and create new knowledge and understanding through writing and literacy skills and the process of research and inquiry.
Ability to independently formulate ideas, queries and critical reflection. Ability to locate sources, evaluate reliability, and synthesise relevant content. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to build on ideas imaginatively and creatively from diverse sources of knowledge and resources. Ability to convey relevant content and use effective research techniques, writing, referencing and verbal skills. Ability to understand and engage with elementary technical aspects of architecture including architectural sciences and technologies. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge within technical areas of focus. Ability to apply standard theories and principles, solve standard problem types, and apply relevant systems. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to demonstrate an understanding of technical systems and requirements within the built environment and the relationship between natural, active and passive systems. Ability to synthesise into a functioning effective whole and varify credibility of results achieved. Ability to articulate basic architectural concepts & issues. Ability to demonstrate skills in oral & visual presentation and the ability to use computer and/or paper-based skills to demonstrate standardized methods of communication. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to demonstrate a proficient approach to oral, visual & graphic communication and/or architectural documentation across a variety of scales. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to effectively address a variety of different audiences, and show a proficiency in presenting, discussing and negotiating architectural ideas and strategies. 4.) Problem-solving, design, and/or planning
Ability to critically and creatively design, innovate and solve problems using diverse skills and knowledge in a range of contexts.
Previous capabilities plus: Ability to generate a conceptual architectural proposal for a spatial and realisable project. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to develop and discuss a suitable design solution, by demonstrating an integration of various domains of knowledge, such as spatial and physical awareness, issues of context and place, and notions of materiality and experience. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to resolve complex design situations through a process of effective evaluation, communication and reappraisal and an understanding of overarching regulations and standards. Previous capabilities plus: Ability to convincingly resolve complex design situations and creatively address major design projects to a high level of detail and technical resolve through a process of effective evaluation, documentation, communication and reappraisal.
