The course requirements described here apply to persons who commenced their candidature after 1 January, 2014 and persons who commenced their candidature prior to 1 January, 2014 who elect to proceed under 2014 resolutions.
Candidates who commenced prior to 1 January, 2014 may complete the requirements in accordance with the resolutions in force at the time of their commencement, provided that requirements are completed by 1 January, 2019, or later date as the faculty may, in special circumstances, approve.
Candidates who first commenced in 2014, and are re-enrolling for 2015 or later, should be aware that there may have been changes in units of study offered since, Check that units are still available by clicking the unit of study link in the course table. Note: At the end of semester 1 students choose a stream of Engineering for which they are eligible. Students transfer to that stream to complete the degree.
Block 3 - Junior Arts Units (Max CP: 6)
Note: Junior Arts units should be selected in first year so as to ensure that 84 credit points of Arts units, including one major, can be completed across degree as a whole. Every major requires at least 24 credit points of senior units plus varying amounts of intermediate and junior credit points as prerequisites for the senior units. Requirements: | Stream B is designed to lead students into the following branches of Engineering and IT: Biomedical (Electrical); Computer; Computer Science and Technology; Electrical; Information Technology; Power; Mechatronics; Mechatronics (Space); Software or Telecommunications. Students transfer to their selected stream of Engineering or IT at the start of 2nd Semester in the 1st year The Mathematics, Physics and Information Technology units of study may be replaced by equivalent advanced level units of study (if available) subject to prerequisite conditions being met. |
