Year 1 - Semester 1
Note: The list above shows semester one core units for Flexible First Year Stream A with Commerce combined. Stream A provides choice of entry into the Engineering areas of Aeronautical, Aeronautical(Space), Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Mechanical(Space) or Project Management. The list is subject to the following variations.
1. Students planning to specialise in Mechanical(Biomedical) Engineering should replace ENGG1800 with BIOL1003 Human Biology.
2. Students planning to specialise in Civil Engineering or Project Engineering and Management should take PHYS1001 Physics 1 in place of ENGG1801. ENGG1801 will be taken in second year instead.
3. Students planning to specialise in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering should take CHEM1101 Chemistry 1A in place of ACCT1005. ACCT1005 will be taken in semester two instead.
Students wishing to proceed to the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering should complete the first semester of this program and enrol in their chosen specialisation in second semester. Choice of other Engineering specialisations must be decided by the end of the year.
Year 1 - Semester 2
Note: The list above shows semester two core units and elective choices for Flexible First Year Stream A with Commerce combined. Stream A provides choice of entry into the Engineering areas of Aeronautical, Aeronautical(Space), Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Mechanical(Space) or Project Management.
Students are strongly advised to consult the requirements for the specialisation that they plan to enter in making their choice of units for second semester. The list above is subject to the following variations, according to the specialisation chosen.
1.ENGG1802 is not required for specialisation in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Combined Engineering/Commerce students considering this specialisation should take CHEM1102 Chemistry 1B instead.
2. ECON1001 should be replaced by ACCT1005 for Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in semester two so as to keep in step with the recommended sequence for the Chemical and Biomolecular/Commerce as a whole. ECON1001 comes later in the sequence for the Chemical and Biomolecular/Commerce combined degree.
3. Engineering Core Options should be selected according to planned specialisation as follows:
* AMME1550: for Aeronautical, Mechanical, Mechanical(Biomedical) and Mechanical(Space) Engineering.
* CHNG1103: Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering.
* ENGG1803: Civil Engineering and Project Engineering & Managment.
