Note: Engineering/Commerce combined degree students undertaking a major in Accounting must complete the following.

(1) One prerequisite junior unit of study (6 credit points): ACCT1006.

(2) Two compulsory senior units of study (12 credit points): ACCT2011 and ACCT2012.

(3) At least four (six credit point) units of study or equivalent (24 credit points) selected from the senior elective units list.

Core Bachelor of Commerce unit ACCT1005 is a further prerequisite for this major and must be completed first.

Note: Students undertaking a major in Business Information Systems must complete the following.

(1) One prerequisite junior unit of study (6 credit points): INFS1000.

(2) Two compulsory senior units of study (12 credit points): INFS2001 and INFS2020.

(3) At least four elective units of study (24 credit points) selected from the senior elective units list, noting that the units listed above are those units which are being offered for the current year only.

Note: Students undertaking a major in Commercial law must complete the following.

(1) One prerequisite junior unit of study (6 credit points): CLAW1000.

(3) At least six elective units of study (36 credit points) selected from the senior elective units list.

Note: Engineering/Commerce combined degree students undertaking a major in Econometrics must complete the following.

(1) One prerequisite junior unit of study (6 credit points): ECMT1020. Completion of core junior engineering unit MATH1005 is also required beforehand. MATH1005 replaces ECMT1010 as prerequisite for ECMT1020.

(2) Two compulsory senior units of study (12 credit points): ECMT2110, ECMT3110.

(3) One unit (6 credit points) chosen from the four Senior Commerce Electives: ECMT3120, ECMT3130, ECMT3150, ECMT3170.

(4) At least three elective units of study (18 credit points) selected from the other senior elective units listed. Only two of these elective units (12 credit points) may be selected from ECMT2620, ECMT2630 or ECMT3610.

Note: Engineering/Commerce students undertaking a major in Economics must complete the following.

(1) Three prerequisite junior unit of study (18 credit points): ECMT1020, ECON1001 and ECON1002. Completion of core junior engineering unit MATH1005 is also required beforehand. MATH1005 replaces ECMT1010 as prerequisite for ECMT1020.

(2) Two compulsory senior units of study (12 credit points): ECOS2001, ECOS2002.

(3) At least four elective units of study (24 credit points) selected from the ECOS senior elective units listed, with at least three at 3000-level (18 credit points).

Note: Engineering/Commerce students undertaking a major in Finance must complete the following.

(1) One junior prerequisite unit of study (six credit points). ECMT1010 is normally required but replaced by by MATH1005 for engineering combined students).

(2) Three compulsory senior units of study (18 credit points): FINC2011, FINC2012, FINC3017.

(3) At least 18 credit points selected from the FINC senior electives list.

It is strongly recommended that students undertaking a Finance major also complete either ECON1001 plus ECON1002 (or ECOF1005) in preparation, as these junior units provide essential assumed knowledge.

Note: Engineering/Commerce students undertaking a major in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management must complete the following.

(1) Two compulsory senior units of study (12 credit points): WORK2203, WORK2205.

(2) At least four elective units of study (24 credit points) selected from the WORK Senior Commerce Electives list.

Core Bachelor of Commerce unit ECOF1004 is a prerequisite for this major and must be completed first.

Note: For a major in International Business, students must complete a minimum 36 credit points in senior units of study comprising:

(1) Four compulsory senior units of study (24 credit points): IBUS2101, IBUS2102, IBUS3101, IBUS3102.

(2) At least two elective units of study (12 credit points) selected from the senior elective units list. Note that many senior elective units of study require the completion of additional prerequisites outside of those units listed for this major. Click on the individual unit for information about these. Students undertaking combined degrees will need to carefully consider prerequisite implications before selecting any of these units to ensure that they do not exceed the credit point limit for the BCom component.

Note: For a major in Management, Engineering/Commerce combined degree students must complete the following.

(1) Three compulsory senior units of study (18 credit points): WORK2201, WORK2210, WORK2218.

(2) At least three units of study (18 credit points) selected from the senior elective units list.

Students taking this major must first have completed at least one of the core junior Bachelor of Commerce units as a prerequisite.

Note: Students intending to complete a major in Marketing must complete the following.

(1) One prerequisite junior unit of study (12 credit points): MKTG1001.

(2) Three compulsory senior units of study (12 credit points): MKTG2112, MKTG2113, MKTG3118.

(3) At least four units of study (24 credit points) selected from the MKTG Senior Commerce Electives list.

Note: Engineering/Commerce students intending to complete a major in Operations Management and Decision Sciences must complete the following.

(1) One prerequisite junior unit of study (6 credit points): ECMT1020. Completion of core junior engineering unit MATH1005 is also required beforehand. MATH1005 replaces ECMT1010 as prerequisite for ECMT1020.

(2) Four compulsory senior units of study (24 credit points): ECMT2620, ECMT2630, ECMT2640, ECMT3610.

(3) At least two units of study (12 credit points) from the senior elective units list.

Note: Students with ISWAM of 65% or greater are eligible for Honours pathway and can replace 4th Year Engineering Project units AMME4121 and AMME4122 with Honours Thesis Units AMME4111 and AMME4112.
