2. Requirements

Summary

In summary, the requirements are:

Students must complete 240 credit points as follows:

Engineering (144 credit points):

► 6 credit points of Introductory Computing units table

► 12 credit points of Foundations Mathematics units table

► 24 credit points of Project table

► The Professional Engagement Program comprising ENGP1001 (0cp), ENGP1002 (0cp), ENGP1003 (0cp), ENGP2001 (0cp), ENGP2002 (0cp), ENGP2003 (0cp), ENGP3001 (0cp) and ENGP3002 (0cp)

► 78 credit points of Biomedical stream core units

► 24 credit points of Biomedical Stream electives

► Up to 18 credit points of additional Biomedical Stream elective units

Science (Medical Science Stream) (96 credit points):

► 24 credit points of Science degree core units (12cp of MATH1* can count towards Engineering requirements)

► 48 credit points of Medical Science core

► 12 credit points of OLE units

► 12 credit points of Science electives (6cp CHEM1* can count towards Engineering requirements)

The Medical Science stream requirements changed in 2024, resulting in changes to 2000-level MEDS units for students who began their degree before 2024.

MEDS2001, MEDS2002, MEDS2004 and MEDS2005 are discontinued and replaced by PHSI2007/PHSI2907, PCOL2021, MIMI2002/MIMI2902 and ANAT2011. ANAT2011 requires prerequisite BIOL1008, which will need to be completed as one of your Science elective units.

Block 11 - Science Units (Min CP: 30,Max CP: 48)

Note: Candidates must complete 96 credit points of Science (Medical Science stream) study, including:

- 54cp Medical Science core units

- 18cp 3000-level Medical Science selective units

- 12 credit points of OLEs

- Elective units as required from Table A or Table S
