All candidates for the Master of Information Technology Management are required to complete a substantial project that will allow the student to apply and demonstrate their knowledge and skills from the program.
A candidate for the Master of Information Technology Management must complete 24 credit points from Core, Specialist or Foundation units of study before taking any Project units.
Admission to project and research units of study is subject to availability of supervision and to the approval of the Dean or nominee.
Professional Pathway Project Units - Course Requirements
The minimum requirement for the Professional Pathway is 12 credit points of Information Technology Capstone project units.
Candidates can complete either COMP5707 and COMP5708 (6+6 credit points - two semesters) or COMP5703 (12 credit points - single semester).

Candidates who achieved a Distinction average or above in their first 24 credit points of enrolment may be eligible for the Research Pathway, subject to the approval of the Program Director.
Candidates in the Research Pathway must take all 24 credit points of the Research Pathway units of study (COMP5702, COMP5704, and INFO5993).
Students who choose the Research Pathway will be required to choose a project undertaken in an area related to their chosen major.

A maximum of 12 credit points may be selected with the approval of the Program Director from units outside the School of IT (different unit codes than COMP, INFO or ISYS).
INFO5206 Information Technologies and Systems is a pre-requisite for all INFS6xxx units of study.
IT Project Elective Units
A candidate for the Master of Information Technology must complete 24 credit points from Core, Specialist or Foundation units of study before taking any Information Technology Project units in the Elective block (COMP5705).
Students will be allowed to take COMP5705 from the Elective Block in addition to the Information Technology Capstone project (12 CPS - COMP5703 or COMP5707 & COMP5708). Completion of COMP5705 does not provide credit towards requirements for the IT Capstone Project.
Admission to project units of study is subject to availability of supervision and to the approval of the Dean or nominee.
