Year 0 - Planning your degree

Note:   Specialisations in the Chemical and Biomolecular (CBE) Stream

  • stream specialisation is a subset of stream electives relevant to a particular aspect of CBE, such as Water and Environmental Treatment Processes.
  • breadth specialisation broadens your knowledge outside the field of CBE, in areas such as Engineering Data Science.


You have 3 specialisation options to choose from in the CBE Stream:
  • Foundation electives [12 cp] + Stream electives [24 cp] + stream or free elective [6cp] (no specialisation option) or
  • 1 stream specialisation [24cp] + Foundation electives [12 cp] + stream or free elective [6cp] or
  • Engineering Data Science specialisation [24cp] + stream electives [18cp]
Completion of a specialisation is optional. Students not wishing to complete a specialisation should select CBE Stream Electives in Sydney Student `My studies`.

Students must complete 192 credit points as follows:

The completion of a specialisation is not mandatory. If a student chooses to do a specialisation, it must be completed within the 192 credit points described above.
