Engineering/Commerce combined degree students undertaking a major in Operations Management and Decision Sciences must complete the following.

(1) One prerequisite junior units of study (6 credit points): ECMT1020. Completion of core junior engineering unit MATH1005 is required beforehand. MATH1005 replaces ECMT1010 as prerequisite for ECMT1020.

(2) Four compulsory senior units of study (24 credit points): ECMT2620, ECMT2630, ECMT2640, ECMT3610.

(3) At least two units of study (12 credit points) from the senior elective units list.

Requirements: To be awarded the Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce combined degree, students must complete units of study with a total value of 240 credit points, comprising units of study required for the Bachelor of Engineering’s specialisation and a minimum of 96 credit points in units of study from the Faculty of Economics and Business. The 96 credit points from the Faculty of Economics and Business must include:

• core Bachelor of Commerce units as set out in the Faculty of Economics and Business handbook

• a major selected from the `Bachelor of Commerce subject areas for majors and electives

• a minimum of 48 credit points in senior (2000 and 3000 level) units of study)

Transition provisions for students enrolled prior to 2010.

These requirements apply to students who commenced their candidature in 2010. Candidates who commenced prior to 1 January, 2010 may complete the requirements in accordance with the resolutions in force at the time of their commencement, provided that requirements are completed by 1 January, 2015. The Faculty may specify a later date for completion or specify alternative requirements for completion of candidatures that extend beyond this time.

Advanced units in Maths and Science

Most units of study offered by the Science Faculty on the list of core requirements can be replaced by an equivalent advanced level unit; subject to prerequisite conditions (as required by the Faculty of Science) being met. Students considering doing advanced options should seek advice from their department before enrolling.

Study Abroad

Students undertaking Study Abroad in a particular year of their degree must enrol in the appropriate International Exchange Program units of study as an alternative to a semester`s standard units.

Engineering Honours

Students in the Honours program must enrol in AMME4111 & AMME4112. Students in the Pass program must enrol in AMME4121 & AMME4122.
