Electives may be approved for candidates who have been granted RVL with the approval of the Program Director.

Candidates must complete 24 credit points of listed Specialist units and 12 credit points of listed Elective units.

Candidates who have been granted 24 credit points of Reduced Volume Learning (RVL) must complete 48 credit points including: a minimum of 12 credit points of Core units; a minimum of 24 credit points of Specialist units in their major; and a minimum of 12 credit points of Research units in their major. Elective units are not available for candidates with RVL.

All candidates must complete Research units comprising either Capstone Project A & B (AMME5020 plus AMME5021 - 12cps), Capstone Project A & B Extended (AMME5020 plus AMME5022 - 18cps), Major Industrial Project (AMME5010 in place of Practical Experience, Capstone Project A & B and 12 credit points of Specialist or Elective units - 24cps) or Dissertation A & B (AMME5222 plus AMME5223 - 24cps). To be eligible for the Extended Project option, students must have a WAM of 70 or higher. To be eligible for the Dissertation option, students must have a WAM of 75 or higher.

Requirements: By completing the units in the accompanying tables, students may qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Engineering, or the Graduate Diploma in Engineering or the Master of Engineering as follows.

Graduate Certificate in Engineering

To qualify for the award of the Graduate Certificate in Engineering a candidate must complete 24 credit points of units of study drawn from the lists of core and specialist units of study.

Graduate Diploma in Engineering

To qualify for the award of the Graduate Diploma in Engineering a candidate must complete 36 credit points of units of study from the prescribed tables.

Master of Engineering

To meet requirements for the Master of Engineering a candidate must complete 72 credit points as listed in the unit of study tables including:

- - 24 credit points of Core units

- - 24 credit points of Specialist units in their major

- - A minimum of 12 credit points of Research units in their major

- - A maximum of 12 credit points of Elective units in their major

Candidates who have been granted 24 credit points of Reduced Volume Learning (RVL), must complete 48 credit points including:
